A while back me and a friend, destined to stay away from sixth street, went to a club called “Malverde”. It is located on the corner of 2nd and Guadalupe in downtown Austin. The atmosphere was awesome, as was the crowd. The music matched the lounge scene. Dj Mel rocked the crowd. If you are looking for a really cool club with an awesome atmoshphere, Malverde would definately be the place to go.
Thanks for the input!! DJ Mel always rocks it @ Nasty’s so I am excited to discover that he is setting it off somewhere else. Bak was actually just telling me about it this past weekend, so I am looking forward to checking out Malverde. What day is he DJ’ing? Is it every week?
I LOVE DJ Mel, but I’d have to say that Malverde is one of the last places I would go to check him out. There is no room to dance, the crowd tends to have a superficial/douche vibe, and the drinks are expensive. I do like the decor of the place. I’ll give it that. Different strokes for different folks, I suppose.
