Look, I voted for the opposite sex. Read the rules for Bak’s dance game (a must read for any real people watcher) and realized I was wrong.
As Bak has so accurately observed and pointed out women will dance with each other, (for whatever reason), until the cow’s come home. Subsequently I thought to myself, “Boy that’s fun for everybody!!!” I.E. the women dancing, the men watching, and…yes the women watching! It’s a win, win, win! Now let’s extrapolate this out in as such as we might use this as a metaphor for the female presence in a bar/club.

Call me shallow, but this always seems like fair enough ground work to have the best party/time at bar/club. I guess that would be assuming that you’re trying to have the best time possible, but I mean isn’t that whole point in leaving the house?

I don’t know one red blooded, self respecting, heterosexual male (not to exclude anyone from this conversation) that is excited by the prospect of trading breaths all night with a bunch of strange, sweaty, drunk dudes. Especially, if they know the words to all your favorite songs. You can have a decent time I suppose, if they’re all homeboys and what not…., but there is a reason the term sausage fest exists.

Subsequently, party people, how many times have you heard your favorite female confidant say, “It was OK, but it was all dudes.” (Never heard my friends say that a lack of dicks was an issue, for obvious reasons I suppose) I would think the notion of fighting off those same testosterone laden, “tryina look hard”, individual’s half-assed attempts at making conversation would be at least three times as annoying for most any women as it is for me. Not to mention it doesn’t really matter who you are, if you’re the only women in this situation you’re going to get a approached multiple times (for those same obvious reasons), whether you like it or not, and don’t try and dance.

All of this I would think would be more than a bit overwhelming, even if she wrote the play list, and was drinking for free.

“But if the music is wack then nobody would even be there!”, says the person who never stayed at a good party and wished the music would change. Come on yo it’s about the people, you can listen to your music at home, in your…. draws…… relaxing. Not to mention whether not the music is “good” is such a relative thing, and usually sounds a lot better with people enjoying it even if it’s not your first choice.

Look let’s just face it. I think the truth is that most people, men and women alike feel a little more comfortable with women around. At least in a bar/club,right? Great women make us all look and feel better. Everyone either want’s to know them or be them, the haters most of all.
