So I’ve done some pretty hardcore partying lately that involved a lot of liquor. This was my way of celebrating my new single life, I guess… It was an ongoing case until about a month ago, when the reality hit me.

…It was 3:30AM. I was on my way home, after a sushi/sake Happy Hour which turned into a “Long” Hour, dancing with friends and bottle service at one of the hottest clubs DT. I think at that point, it was my day three of straight partying. I was drunk and exhausted. I remember getting in my car…thereafter, my memory draws blank. The next thing I know, I landed on the side of my car off the bridge on a cliff …mind you, my car was also about 10 feet away from falling off the cliff. I was scared to move because I thought my car will completely flip over. I heard construction workers approach my car who told me to open my window because the door wasn’t working. They pulled me out of the car and called 911.

To make the long story short, I avoided three things that night: DWI, involuntary manslaughter and most importantly – death. God was definitely watching over me that night because I could have easily ran over any of the construction workers, hit another driver, got injuries and put myself in a lot of trouble with the law. This was a huge live and learn for me. I am Blessed to be alive! I understand another chance like this would not be given.

My advice to you – if you plan on drinking, get a cab or designate a driver. Trust me, it’s not worth it!

Peace, love & safe driving,
~G.H.
