What do Bruce Lee, Pac Man, and Irish Car Bombs have in common? If the only answer you can come up with is that the three can all be considerably threatening to one’s health, have no fear. The Kung Fu Saloon houses them all under one roof in a most harmonious existence. Music to your ears? It should be.

If upon entering this place, you’re not completely captivated by the slew of choice vintage video games, your eyes are immediately drawn up to the street-art-like murals illustrating Bruce Lee and Chuck Norris in their most infamous mid kick-ass stances. With just one quick glance around the room, it become’s clear that this crowd of patrons is as diverse as they come. Colossal birthday groups congregate around the centered circular bar. A cheery assemblage on the outdoor patio crowds around a game of life-size Jenga. Double dates clutching tequila shots in one hand and a ski ball in the other, toast to the newest high-scoring victor. Even tiara sporting bachelorettes go head to head with their girlfriends in a game of NBA Jam.

So, what else does the saloon have to offer to those surprisingly unimpressed by the idea of this blissful haven of friendly competition? For starters, happy hour begins at 4pm and doesn’t end until 9pm, Monday through Saturday. “Freeplay Sunday” offers unlimited play of all games and in addition to that, an all day happy hour. Live artists can be discovered with their canvas and Krylon throughout the week and Thievery Corporation’s own DJ El John Selector stops by every Thursday to spin his wheels.
