The FeedBak 2 Year Anniversary: The GiveBak

Oh how time flies! It’s already been 2 years since we started The FeedBak!! You know what that means? PARTY!! And this time we are giving bak to a charity.

There is an African proverb that reads: “If you think you are too small to make a difference, you have never spent the night with a mosquito”.

For its 2 year anniversary, The FeedBak is proud to host an event to benefit the HOPE for Senegal project, a participating campaign of the 501(c)3 nonprofit organization the HOPE (Helping Other People Everywhere) Campaign. With a national literacy rate of 39%, HOPE for Senegal is working to improve the condition of the 4,000+ students at Lycée Malick Sy High School in the country’s second largest city. The money raised will help improve education through various projects. Such projects include awarding scholarships, providing equipment for educational programs, and supplying medicine to the school nurse.

Here’s what we have in store for you:

• Music by DJ Chicken George & DJ Kid Slyce
• Hosted by Kenny Amponsah
• Performance by Jean Claude Lessou, professional African Dancer
• Food by Cazamance(VIP tickets only). Here’s the menu:
  • Fataya ( Senegalese street food with ground beef and poblano) served with a spicy tomato sauce.
  • Mergeze ( lamb sausage with marrocan spice) served with Dijon mustard and pickles.
  • Peanut butter hummus with fresh veggies + pita bread.
  • Dakar’s style red curry veggies on corn tortillas.
• Silent Auction & Raffle with prizes from local businesses

As some of you may know, Bak, the founder of The FeedBak, is from Senegal. He is clearly aware of the harsh conditions students must deal with on a daily basis at school. Let’s celebrate the 2 years of The FeedBak and help him make a difference in his home country.
